Episode Seven – Spotify Rabbit Hole

This time we do something a bit different. Instead of featuring one band, we decided to hit up Spotify and follow the metal recommendations, in search of bands we’ve never listened to. And boy did we find some… Prepare for lots of music this episode as there was a to like and a lot to…uh…marvel at, I guess.

Beyond that, we take shots at our favorite punching bag, Dave Mustaine, discuss the Bill Ward vs. Black Sabbath drama, and come to the conclusion that Eddie Van Halen may not be such a bad guy after all.

Thanks for listening!

Episode Six – Slayer

Today, it’s…SLAYERRRRRRRRRRR!!! The kings of thrash metal get the royal treatment, we pay our respects to MCA, wonder why Glenn Danzig is such an asshole, deliver some GWAR news, and talk about Metallica’s new book. In addition, Craig talks about some recent releases, gives you a new scenario for What Would Lemmy Do?, and almost loses Metal or Not.

This week’s last song is The Strongest Dead Man Alive by The Kickass. You can find it here.

Thanks for listening!

Episode Five – King Diamond

It’s a pretty short show this week as we had to squeeze one in our busy schedules. But this week, we talk about the real King of Darkness: King Diamond! While it’s true that we’re not experts on the man and his music, we felt he needed to be included in our Metal 101 segment. GRANDMAAAA!

Beyond that, there are some quick news bits, we talk briefly about some new hair metal bands, and end with a tune from the forthcoming Shadowsfall album, which you can find here.

As always, thanks for listening!

Episode Four – Pantera

This week, we take the piss with Pantera, try to figure out what type of metalheads we are, and lament the fact that we never knocked up a blue-haired chick in a men’s room stall. Throw in a reveal that one of the hosts wants to fuck Johnny Depp, and you’ve got one hell of an show.

Bands discussed in this episode are Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Dragon Force, Marilyn Manson, and Dio. The last song is “Red Tide Rising” by Orange Goblin, which you can listen to right here

Episode Three – Iron Maiden

After a brief vacation, we’re back with more metal. In this episode, we discuss whether or not Dave Mustaine is really a prolapsed rectum, why we don’t want to know where King Diamond lives, why red wine is more metal than white wine, and argue over Kill ‘em All vs. Killing is My Business.

Bands discussed this episode: Deicide, Slayer, Guns n’ Roses, Overkill, Iron Maiden, Accept, and more.

Our featured song this week is “Wrong Answer” by Municipal Waste. Thanks to Rusty for the suggestions. To check out the awesomely low-budget video, click here.

Episode Two – Black Sabbath

It’s only been a few days, but we’re back with another episode of Metal Up Your Ass! Craig’s out on vacation next week, so the idea was to get this one recorded and put it up while he was gone. However, I’m so happy with how this one turned out that I couldn’t wait to put it up. I hope you’ll agree that it’s a marked improvement over the first one.

On this episode, we discuss Accept, Tool, Lars Ulrich, Black Sabbath, Ronnie James Dio, Ozzy, and Lazarus AD.

Thanks for the emails, tweets, and comments we’ve received. Not having a feed or being on iTunes, it’s nice to know that at least a handful of metal heads are listening. There’ll be a bit of a gap until Craig gets back for Episode 3, but we’ve got some fun stuff planned for that one. In the meantime, please continue to pass on suggestions and comments. We appreciate it.

Episode One – Motörhead

Thanks for checking out the first episode of Metal Up Your Ass! It’s a new Party Casino, so please bear with us as we figure things out. We’ve already made a bunch of notes for episode two and the show will flow more smoothly as we nail down the format and become more comfortable. Also, we’re not on iTunes yet, but will be in the coming weeks.

In this episode, we discuss Megadeth, Kiss, Motley Crue, Motorhead, Metallica, and Valient Thorr. You can watch that Valient Thorr video here.

We’ll cast a wider net on future episodes, as well as hitting lesser-known bands. I know we have quite a few metal fans in the DGR audience, so I encourage you to send us your suggestions.

Thanks again for listening!
