This time around, things get morbid. We’re talking Death…metal. No, not “Death Metal”. But metal made by guys who are dead. You follow? So with that theme in mind, we give you some great metal from some legends, as well as from some lesser-knowns.
But don’t worry, things aren’t all solemn and dark. We made sure to sprinkle in a few fart jokes too, just to keep the mood light.

We’re both a bit crabby and cynical today, but don’t let that dissuade you. We’ve still got a show full of great music for you with one of the best thrash bands around. We give you a review of the Metal Alliance tour, talk about Phil Anselmo’s upcoming solo album, wonder who’s going to see Black Sabbath, and agree that nostalgia tours suck ass.
In this episode, we cover one of the original thrash bands, Exodus. Do they get enough credit? Or are their lineup changes and inconsistent releases to blame for their second-tier status in the pantheon of great metal bands?
We cover the ongoing Randy Blythe saga, salivate over the Metal Alliance tour, and play with the James Hetfield sound board. And, in a surprising turn of events, John decides he’s going to turn over a new leaf and be more positive following a Twitter encounter with Eddie Trunk.
This time we do something a bit different. Instead of featuring one band, we decided to hit up Spotify and follow the metal recommendations, in search of bands we’ve never listened to. And boy did we find some… Prepare for lots of music this episode as there was a to like and a lot to…uh…marvel at, I guess.
Beyond that, we take shots at our favorite punching bag, Dave Mustaine, discuss the Bill Ward vs. Black Sabbath drama, and come to the conclusion that Eddie Van Halen may not be such a bad guy after all.
